With the fast depreciation of new vehicles, the wise car buyer will shop for a used car rather than a brand new one. If you are in the market for a new used car, you need to know what to do to avoid buying a lemon or paying way too much for a vehicle. After all, just because a car is used doesn’t mean that it can’t be a great vehicle for a great price!

Where to Find Cars for Sale

You can find cars for sale a variety of places. Almost all dealerships have some used cars available that they received as trade-ins, even if they specialize in selling new vehicles. You can also buy directly from a car’s owner. Check newspaper and online classifieds to find cars that are currently for sale. Keep your eyes open as you drive around town to see cars that have for sale signs in their windows.

You will probably see some cars parked along the side of the road for sale. These are often for sale by individuals who fix up cars and then resell them for profit. You can sometimes get a good deal on one of these cars, but make sure you do your research before buying one. It could have a problem that the seller is hiding or does not know about.

Figuring the Car’s Value

You do not want to buy the cheapest car on the market. Extremely low prices usually are there for a reason. What you want is to find a good deal, which means a good car that is priced at the low end of what it is worth. Remember, a cheap car is likely to need costly repairs in the near future.

How can you know how much a car is worth? One resource to use to check a car’s value is Kelley Blue Book. This online resource allows you to search using the car’s make, model, year, and condition. It will show you the average selling price for cars similar to the one you are considering. Look for a car in the middle to low end of the price range shown. Keep in mind that cars priced well below the value may have an underlying problem that you cannot see when you take them for a test drive.

Decide the Type of Car You Want

The type of car you want will depend on many different factors. If you have children or anticipate having children in the near future, make sure that you choose a vehicle that has enough room in the back seat for a car seat. Many compact vehicles do not accommodate rear-facing car seats, even though they have a back seat.

You will need to decide how important fuel economy is. A large SUV will have enough room for your children’s seats, but it is going to drink gas. If you intend to drive the vehicle long distances on a regular basis, you need something a little more fuel-efficient.

As you consider the type of car you want, be sure to consider how much the insurance will be. Car insurance providers charge different rates for various vehicles based on their safety ratings and overall crash histories. Talk to your insurance provider about the rates on the different vehicles you are considering. You will find that two vehicles with very similar features will have very different insurance rates.

Mileage and Age Considerations

As you search through the classifieds for your next used car, make sure you pay attention to the mileage on the vehicle. A car with more than 155,000 miles is not going to last long. However, a car with low mileage may not be a good idea either if the car was driven poorly. Find out from the buyer what percentage of the miles were highway miles if you can. Highway driving is not hard no a car’s engine. If a car with high mileage was driven on a long commute over the highway, the engine will be in better shape than a car with low mileage that was driven by a “soccer mom” around town to the kids’ activities.

You also want to consider the age of a car. Cars, no matter what type they are, do not age well. A car that is more than ten years old is going to take your hard earned money over and over for costly repairs. Even if the car was rarely driven, it can still have worn out parts simply because the parts are old. If you need a bargain, shop for a car that is five or six years old.

The Purchase Process

Once you find a car that you like, run a vehicle history report on it. You can also ask the seller if you can take it to a trusted mechanic to get checked out. These two steps will help you avoid purchasing a car with hidden problems.

If you are satisfied that the car is right for you, be sure that you negotiate the price. Most buyers are willing to take a few thousand less than they have priced the car. Dealers always price the car higher than what they must sell it for, so do not be afraid to make a lower offer. Keep the attitude that you have many other cars to choose from, and you will be able to get a lower price.

Once a price has been agreed to, you will need to pay for the car. If you are using a loan, get a check from your bank that you can use to buy the vehicle. The title will then be transferred to you. If you are buying from a dealership, the dealer will probably handle the legal aspect of the title transfer. If you are buying from a private seller, you will have to follow the rules of your local DMV to transfer the title from the seller’s name to your name. You will be required to show proof of insurance before you can transfer the title, so be sure that you add the car to your insurance policy as soon as you have purchased it.

Follow these 19 tips to ensure you've done just about everything to ensure you've bought the second hand car at the right price, it's legally yours, and you haven't bought a scrapper!

• Do your homework. Read up about the model of car you’re thinking about. Will it perform as you will want? Be aware of any known mechanical problems with that particular model and remember to check them out when you take it for a test drive (see tip 15).

• Look up the current second hand values for the car. Try starting at [http://www.what] car.com. Also get some of the second hand car magazines and your local paper. Check out the prices being asked for similar cars.

• Car Insurance is always a major expense. How much will that car cost you to insure? It’s easy to find out on the Internet – get a few quotes. It’ll just take you ten minutes.

• Also check out the car’s other running costs. We’re talking about fuel consumption, servicing and repair bills. Again [http://www.what] car.com can help. Ensure you can afford to run the car!

• When you see the car insist on seeing its registration documents and, if the car is more than 3 years old, its MOT certificate. The registration documents will also show the cars’ VIN number. Carefully check that the documents tally.

• Always ensure that the person selling the car does actually own it.

• And always see the car at the seller’s own home or business premises. Then ensure that the address on the Registration Document is at the same as the address – if not ask why. You should be suspicious.

• Examine the Road Tax disc. Is it still valid? Does the vehicle registration number on the disc match the Registration Document and the number on its number plate?

• Ask to view the cars’ Servicing Record. Usually, this will also show the cars’ VIN number and details of the first owner. If the Service record is not available, has the owner kept any of the service or repair bills? Ask to see them.

• Now look under the bonnet and look for the VIN Number (it could also be on a plate on the inside edge of one of the front doors). Compare the VIN number with the number on the Registration Document and check that the number stamped on the car has not been interfered with. This will help to ensure that the car hasn’t had its identity changed.

• It’s best to take a friend with you who knows’ about cars – not only to look at the car but also to be a witness for what is said and anything that is agreed.

• Don’t pay for a car on your first visit and try not to be pushed into putting down a deposit. You need to carry out some checks before you part with any money (see 17 below).

• Ask the owner whether the car is subject to any outstanding finance. Take notes of what he/she says. Then, when you get home, get on the Internet and check out the information provided with RAC Vehicle Status Check. Go to the RAC’ web site. Click on “Car Buying” and then “Vehicle Status Checks”. The Status Check will cost you £24.99 but it will confirm whether the car has outstanding finance. Best to be safe – without this Check you could find out that a finance company actually has a prior title to the car.

• Carefully examine the car in good daylight. Look carefully for signs of repairs and accident damage. If you have followed our advice and obtained a Vehicle Status Check, that Check will also notify you if the car has previously been “written off”.

• Try to ensure that the car hasn’t been “clocked”. (Clocked means that the mileometer has been wound back to show a lower mileage.) The average annual mileage is around 12,000. Be wary if the wear and tear on the car looks greater than you would expect from the mileage. The wear on the driver’s pedals is usually a give away. Then ask when the tyres were last replaced. Does the wear on the tyres look about right?

• Insist on test-driving the car for at least 10/15 miles. You need to get the car fully warmed up and drive it in varying conditions. Incidentally, don’t forget to ensure you are insured to drive it! Don’t assume that your own insurance policy will cover you for driving someone else’s car. Check your policy before you leave home. If the seller claims that his insurance covers you, ask to see his policy – a bit of a pain but better safe than sorry!

• Has the car ticked all the boxes so far? Then spend some more money get it professionally inspected.

• Never pay any money until you have seen the results of the RAC Vehicle Status Check. And even then, avoid paying any money until the car is handed over to you complete with its Documents and tax disc. Always get a written receipt for any money you pay and ensure that it includes the sellers name and address.

• Last of all, make sure you’re insured from the moment you drive the car away. The Police can now impound, and ultimately scrap, your car if you’re driving it without insurance or road tax! If the car has not got Road Tax disc, call in at the Post Office on the way home and get one. You’ll need to show them a valid insurance cover note for the car and the cars up to date MOT Certificate.

If you’ve followed all these steps you’ll have done just about everything possible to ensure the car is legally yours at the right price, and you haven’t bought a scrapper!

Lifted trucks are the huge body mechanics that makes the truck rider more dynamic and dashing. These trucks are used mainly to lift the heavy loads and to get the higher utilities of the structure of the trucks. These trucks have made the heavy industries safer and smoother. But, the larger the truck is the higher the safety concerns required. Here are some of the prime safety features that are making the Lifted trucks safer and secured.

Trucks are having diverse types and features. The trucks are invented according to the utilities and requirements of the industries. The heavy machinery and the construction industry required heavy truck that can make the heavy tools and machinery transferred. This requirement gave birth to one of the most fascinating type of trucks, Lifted trucks. Lifted trucks are the trucks that are having huge and gigantic body with hydraulic machine that can lift the heavy tools and goods and can shift them to desired places.

The History

In 1970s, the Pickup trucks modification got started and in the later decade the giant and massive structured trucks were invented with the high profile features. These trucks were used mainly for mud bogging and truck pulling. Seeing the wider popularity and trend, the truck owners and transporters started creating the trucks that were known as Lifted trucks. These trucks were having giant wheels on it that made the trucks said to be the “biggest trucks” ever. These trucks were quite similar to the Bigfoot trucks and Monster trucks that were seen in those days quite frequently. In the preliminary stage of the trucks, the trucks were having 48 inch diameter of wheels.

The safety features

Since these trucks are quite higher and huge, the trucks should get dressed up with ample safety features and so is the case in the Lifted trucks. The height of the bumper is too higher than of any other trucks or vehicles. This height forces the engineers to make sure the safety features for the truck riders. The height of an average bumper of lifted trucks is 20 inches taller the car bumper. On such a massive height, it becomes quite difficult to make sure the lane changing and driving on the small roads of city. The drive ability and the performance of the trucks are quite unique and it requires the special driver as well. In many countries, the lifted truck drivers are given special license after getting a special test drive. To big risk factor is the braking of the trucks as such huge vehicle takes lot stress and efforts for braking. To have a proper and efficient braking, the suspension needs to get better and smarter.

Here are some of the safety tips that should be considered while driving or even when the trucks are not moving.

The Brakes

Upgrading the brake system is quite important as the wheels and tire size is quite taller that increases the caliper and rotor sizes. The diameter of the wheels is quite larger that adds distance of tires from the axle center axis. The caliper pad needs to get decelerated to put brake in the rotation of wheels.

The Drive shaft of Pinion Angle

The drive shaft of the vehicle is quite important when the vehicle is to get lifted. The ideal measurement of the pinion angle is to get the angle between 2-1/2 degrees of pinion angle. The U joint of the operating parameters forces the normal parameter to extend the joint which can get failed if the U is forced beyond the normal force. The spacer should therefore be used quite properly by matching the alignment that can make the driving pleasure on top.

The Shock Absorber

In such giant truck, the braking needs to get more than efficient otherwise the driving could be resulted in shock, shock and shock!! To make this truck safer from these shocks, the Mono Tube shocks are attached with the reservoir cylinder that are used mainly fro the off road performance improvements. The shock absorber is attached to the vehicles frame from one side as the suspension is attached from the other size. The shocks are quite dangerous as they can damp the spring action of the vehicle. The inner cylinder of the truck, the outer cylinder reservoir and the piston rod of the vehicle is also fitted in the trucks to assure the safety of the rider.

These are some of the safety features of the Lifted trucks. These features need to get confirmed by the users at regular interval to make sure the safety of the rider.

Premiercustomtrucks.com is the site where all kinds of trucks are available with greater varieties and styles. The Lifted trucks for sale are offered in greater styles and passion. There are few informative articles that are making the lifted trucks revealed and cleared to make the trucks for sale business more spontaneous and splendid. To get the best deals and knowledge of lifted trucks, just get registered with the site and have fun of making the trucks buying more utility oriented.

Buying a car can be a very long and difficult process for some. In this article I am going to give you the ins and outs of buying a car, whether its a used car or a brand new car. There are also other aspects I am going to talk about like car insurance and car loans. Since the internet revolution the car buying process has evolved immensely and we can getter even better deals than ever!

The first thing to do is RESEARCH! Find out what cars you are interested in. When you buy a car you are going to have it for a while so you better like it! The internet is a great place to start when researching cars. There are many sites that have loads of information on all car models. Look around and find some cars that are in your price range. Write down the make and model of the cars for later use. When buying a new car, you should also write down the blue book value of the car. This comes in handy when some car salesman tries to get that extra buck out of you.

The next step when buying a brand new car is LOOKING. Check out your local car dealerships and see if they have any of the car models you were interested in. Take them for a nice little test drive to make sure the car you like, drives well too. Sometimes the best looking cars don’t fit your needs or drive well. Make sure you just go to look! Don’t even think about buying anything at this point. Do not let a salesman cloud your judgment on what make and model car you want. They just want to sale you the most expensive one (usually). Once you have test driven a couple cars, head home! Do a little more research on the cars you were interested and really liked. Once you find the car that is in your price range and drives the way you like it, you can start looking to buy it.

The most important thing when dealing with car salesman is not giving in! You know how much the car is worth because you researched it on the internet. Let the salesman know you have researched and you know what your talking about. The biggest tip when buying a new car is patience. Its ok to go to the car dealership a few times before they give you the price you want. When you finally get that price you want, BUY IT!

When buying a used car its very important to ask a lot of questions. There are a lot of things people won’t tell you about their used car. Ask for all the cars upgrades, repairs, accidents, and everything else. A good idea is to also check out the VIN number on the web and see all the information about the car. You can find almost everything using these VIN number lookups. I would usually try and stay away from car dealership when buying a used car. The internet is actually a really great place to find used cars. eBay is a huge resource for finding used cars. There are also some other sites that are dedicated to selling used cars, like Autotrader.com. Its also important to be patient when buying a used car also. Third party sellers are more willing to lower their price because they just want to get the car off their hands. Give it some time and they will bring that price way down.

I hope this article has given you some great information about buying new cars and used cars. Just remember to do your research and be patient. Buying a car is a difficult process but when applying these steps, you will get the car you want at the price you can afford.

If it is essentially feasible to fall in love with a vehicle, I believe that I have fallen head-over-heels for the Chrysler Sebring convertible. This trendy automobile is the ideal beauty in design and performance. The graceful sophistication has a modern edge but the Chrysler Sebring convertible has a classic appeal that nearly any automobile enthusiast really appreciates.

I’m in no way a collector of fine automobiles but I do know a stylish automobile when I see one. The first time I looked at a Chrysler Sebring convertible I knew I had to support the wheel. This vehicle offers personality and style but I marvelled if it offered performance as well .

The Chrysler co. has offered me great driving experiences during the past. I used to own a P.T. Cruiser and I loved driving that automobile for several years. I knew the company offered great quality and outstanding design too. The Chrysler Sebring convertible was on my mind but I had to check it out first.

Naturally, I didn’t want to let go of my Cruiser. This auto has been so good to me over time but now that I am living in a warmer climate, I really wish to let the top down and go on the road feeling carefree. The convertible P.T. Cruisers on the market just failed to look right to me but the Chrysler Sebring convertible did.

I decided that a test was in order. I did not like to let my Cruiser go but I also knew that it was time for a change. In fact , I got a new job and a new life in a Southern state. My Cruiser was superb for my life up north but the Chrysler Sebring convertible was superb for my new life in the south.
When I entered the dealership the salesman knew that he was going to be selling a car that day. Inside 5 minutes of driving the Chrysler Sebring convertible I offered a big yes to the deal. The price was right and the auto was beyond perfect. The smooth driving vehicle felt powerful and free and I could not wait to put the 1st mile on my own model.

There were some colors available and I had a hard time selecting between a shiny black or a silver model. I mostly wanted a black automobile but the weather up north left these colored cars grubby and covered in salt. Silver was better for a northerly vehicle. For that terribly reason, I selected a Chrysler Sebring convertible in deep black. It was the perfect change for my new life.
