New York Cleans up Vehicles From the Street
Filed Under General
As we have witnessed the government have taken pollution very seriously, and they have already started the clamp down on cars. We all know that cars are one of the worst polluting machines of all, and this is specifically why we the government have introduced a vehicle scrappage scheme. This is to get the old polluting cars off of the road and replace them with more suitable ones.
But the Americans have taken a step further and stopped vehicles from using Times Square, too stop pollution. Besides that I also think another benefit that can come from all of this is that people will become a lot healthier then they usually would. The world is currently suffering with obesity and this is simply because no one gets any exercise anymore. But with effectively eliminating the use of vehicles people will begin walking a lot more and not breathing in unhealthy car fumes.
So should vehicles really be banned from busy city centres? Well as we have already seen there is a huge amount of beneficial factors, but for some people there may be a lot of negative ones, an example of this is delivery drivers and cabs, how will shops get their deliveries on time if no one is allowed to access or park out side the shops? And could cab drivers lose a lot of customers simply by not being able to pick them up?
Whichever way you take a glance at this scenario there is likely to be a lot of good and bad aspects equally in their own rights.
