Is it safe to remove my subwoofer without removing the wires from my car?

I recently had a sound system professionally installed in my car I am going to be away from my car for a month I would like to unhook my sub box and keep it in my room I would also like to leave the wires in place I have an alarm on my car but my sub box can’t be bolted to my car(spare tire in the way) Would leaving the wires in place short out my cars electrical system I am parking on a military base (navy)

Just make sure they are not touching any metal surface or put a piece of electrical tape over the ends of them.
