I really want cool parking when I go to a Dodger / Laker game. I wouldn’t abuse it, I’d only use it once in a while. Plus I don’t want to put money in a meter. It’s not that I am cheap, I don’t always have enough quarters and stores don’ t like giving you change. How can I get one?

Answer:
Hahaha! Just wanted to let you know that it’s illegal, and comes with a hefty fine ($250 and up). Plus, you’ll be taking spots away from truly handicapped people. The handicapped spaces are pretty limited, so if there are 10 spots, and 9 handicapped people come to the game, plus you, a person that is totally fine, then the last handicapped person there will be forced to park elsewhere far far away :( Have you ever seen that Seinfeld episode where (I think) George parked in a handicapped spot? Anyway… I assume you live in CA. Go to http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/brochures/fast_facts/ffvr07.htm for more info on how to obtain one. Maybe you can qualify for one of the diseases (although I truly hope you don’t, ’cause that is not pleasant, you know?). If you live in a different state go to your state DMV or MVD site or go to http://arthritis.about.com/od/driving/a/handicapparking.htm and click on your state for the rules. Pay special attention to the fines that you can get slapped with for breaking the law ;) Other than that, I’d say carpool with someone or take public transportation… or have enough quarters. It’s not like you are going to those games every day, so just make a habit of saving every quarter every time you use cash. Doesn’t the stadium have non-metered parking for a paper money fee on entrance or exit? That’s odd…
