Cycle World Magazine, July 09 issue, They praise and love the HD XR1200, Did HD pay them off?

and should I cancel my subscription to Cycle World in protest that they ONLY had wonderful things to say about the HD? I bet HD would only give them a nice advertising contract ONLY if they would say good things about Harley! Good-Old-Boy network, you scratch my back and i scratch yours! HD has their own magazines! They don’t need Cycle World! I sat on the HD XR1200 and the rear brake fluid rev. hits my ankle! poor engineering design get the issue and read it! They compaired the HD against a Ducati and THEY TRASHED THE DUCATI? nobody and I mean NOBODY has anything bad to say about any Ducati! so do you mean Cycle World has hit a new low by the only way they can make any harley look good is trash one of the finest bikes made in the world? Write complaint letters to Cycle World and tell them you are NOT pleased by them trashing Ducati in favor of Harley Davidson!

Well, if you want to call it that. It’s called advertising. The company that pays the most money to the publisher of the magazine(s) gets the best coverage. They are a Filipacchi company, who also publishes Car and Driver, Road and Track, Boating Magazine and Flying Magazine, all of which have at least one HD ad in every issue. Plus, the guy that wrote all three articles in the last six months has a secret man-crush on Scott Parker, and an affinity for dirt track racing, so you’ve got to expect him to be more than a little slanted.
