If you are thinking of a car that is sleek, sporty, luxurious or cheap then the right choice is to look for a Japanese car model. Japanese cars are the highest selling cars in the world and are very much in demand. If you are looking for the looks then you can find the most beautiful looking cars and if your main concern is the safety then also these cars are amongst the best available cars in the world.

There are different Japanese car manufacturers and amongst the top producers are Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Mazda, Lexus, Subaru, Isuzu, and Daihatsu. Amongst all these car manufacturers, Toyota is on the top of the highest car seller list in Japan. It is not far behind if we take the statistics from the world, as Toyota is rated as the second largest car manufacturer in the world. General Motors is in the top slot for the number one car company in the world. Ford is not far behind from Toyota and few months’ back only Ford sales were ahead of Toyota’s. In Japan, Honda and Nissan are also close competitors of Toyota.

Recently Honda Accord was rated as the best selling car in North America. Honda is another very popular company in Japan and is known for its quality. Japanese cars can be easily imported almost anywhere in the world, as the Japanese government has simplified the exporting laws in order to promote their cars. The Japanese cars are the most fuel-efficient cars and the best of facilities available for comfort as well as for safety. Features such as top-notch sound systems, GPS, TV, cameras etc. are now part of the options available on many of these Japanese car models. Most of the Japanese cars if compared to the similar bracket car models are very light in weight and there is even a special group of cars in Japan known as k-cars derived from the word “Kei” that means lightweight. Generally such cars do not exceed 660 cc and are quite popular in Japanese market. These k-cars are available in 5 seater models as well as 2 seater sports models.

Demand of new Japanese cars is on a rise and if we have a look at the demand of used Japanese cars then one would be astonished to see the figures. Recently the car dealers in Asian countries are looking for a lot of small cars less than 1000cc. There is a huge customer base in Asia for Japanese cars, since these cars have a very good design and the condition of these used cars are pretty good. Most of the Japanese car owners get their cars serviced well in time and also keep their cars immaculate. Reports say that the production time spent on each vehicle by the top three Japanese car companies is far less than the production time compared to the top three American companies. Nissan is the fastest in the production time and takes almost 17.25 hours to produce one car where as Honda takes 20.65 hours and Toyota takes 20.69 hours. The American companies take on an average almost 5.5 + hours more than these Japanese car manufacturers. So, one can very well imagine the amount of production taking place for these Japanese cars is greater.

Many Japanese car companies manufacture their cars here in America. Therefore you’re not exporting american jobs by buying many Japanese cars, while by shopping at Wal-Mart or other big chains you are.

All in all, Japanese cars are a very good option for a car owner.

Youth ATV Ramps have come a long way, I would say because I remember, once upon a time, youth ATV ramps used to weigh a ton and cost a fortune! People used to be able to haul their ATVs to and from places without the use of a ramp for a long time – mainly because the cost of a Youth ATV Ramp during those times was quite heavy. Not so now. There are so many different types of Youth ATV Ramps in the market to suit everyone’s needs that you’re literally spoilt for choice these days.

Add that extra leg with a youth ATV ramp

To most of us ATV enthusiasts today, a youth ATV ramp is like a pair of irreplaceable legs! The use of an ATV ramp is indescribeable because not only is it convenient, it’s also light, compact and easy to carry around. Not to mention, they’re really quite cheap these days. So, every family who has someone who is interested in ATV riding should have a youth ATV ramp ready to use.

Secure and Simple design youth ATV ramps

It doesn’t take a lot of space to store a youth ATV ramp because most of the youth ATV ramps today are made to accommodate small storage spaces. With their innovative design, youth ATV ramps are usually very compact, collapsible and is easy to lug around. All you have to do is to fold it up when you want to transport it, stick it into the trunk of your vehicle and then unfold it when you need to use it.

It’s not heavy, it’s my youth ATV ramp….

We’re referring to a general youth ATV ramp. When folded up, the youth ATV ramp is about 39″ x 22″ x 75″. But when it’s unfolded, it could be about 45″w x 75″! And don’t be fooled by the size and weight of it, a good youth ATV ramp can handle up to 4,000 lbs. It’s almost like a mouse lifting a lion with a finger!

No slip security on modern Youth ATV ramps

Because it’s so light and convenient, it’s easy to assume that youth ATV ramps are not secure or even unsafe. Don’t be fooled. Latest youth ATV ramp designs comes with a raised lip so that the ramp won’t slip when your ATV is on it. Wouldn’t want that to happen. And to make it even safer to use, the youth ATV ramps usually have support rings placed very close to each other. This is to ensure that the wheels on your ATV won’t slip or get caught!

With so many features and advantages of using a Youth ATV ramp, it’s easy to see why most ATV enthusiasts have at least one handy.

Marsha Maung is an ATV enthusiast enthusiastically promoting ATV riding as a sport and family activity!

How to buy a new Car

Buying a car is usually our second biggest investment after our home purchase and most of us will do it more than once in our life.

There is something emotional about cars, it represents our taste and style, our economic status and our character. Some women even claim that a car is a man’s extension of his reproductive organ. One the other hand (the good hand) there are women out there that might express their exhibitionism and extravagance by choosing to drive a red flashy car for the whole world to notice them. Both sexes would agree they sometimes feel they “fall in love” with a certain car model.

There are people who get very existed from a small scratch on the cars lower side, as if it were their own skin. The beauty of the car, its aerodynamics shape, the gadgets inside, the seats the feel of it all play a major part in our decision making.

In our modern life it’s almost impossible to function without one and it’s expensive to acquire, to finance and to maintain.

Buying a new car is a lot of fun, the new car has its unique smell no doubt about it, the very fact you can afford to own a brand new car is a great feeling.

When is the best time to buy a new car?

There are two “best times” to buy a car. The end of December is a good time for car buyers to buy a new car. Everyone is out buying Christmas gifts, leaving new car dealer lots void of customers, motivating dealers to cut costs, and break year end sales records. Another good time to buy a car is July to October as new car dealers sell off cars at low prices to clear space for new car models. Secret factory to dealer incentives can be $1000-$6000 in addition to new car consumer rebates!

How and where to search for prices:

Invoice price – what the dealer pays the manufacturer – has become the real negotiating point. Allowing for the dealer’s need to make a profit, the price you pay should be somewhere between sticker and invoice.

Virtually all car buying sites on the Internet show invoice and in most cases their buying tools automatically add option/package invoice amounts as you work your way through the process.

Any car buyer, with very little effort, can get an accurate summation of a car’s value, which immediately puts him or her in a stronger negotiating position.

Happily for the consumer, the Internet now allows a prospective buyer to uncover market conditions at any moment in various parts of the country.
http://www.Edmunds.com/

for example, reveals the True Market Value: http://www.CarsDirect.com/, which sells cars online, has its own version called Guaranteed CarsDirect price http://www.Intellichoice.com/ sorts out the Best Deals of the Month.

The negotiation phase and the dirty tricks:

After you made your research via the Internet, it’s important you make some phone calls to car dealers and ask for some written offers to be sent to you via the fax or email for the car of your dreams. That way, you can compare prices between several dealers without being pressured by a salesperson.

You would be much better off selling your old car yourself rather than to trade it in through the dealer because the dealer will have to earn some money on it as well.

Remember, everything is a negotiable, car too. Buying a new car is tricky from the moment you step into the car dealership arena, you might be manipulated by scam artists, well trained sales persons that will use every trick in their fat book of tricks to extort every last Dollar out of your bank account.

There is one well known trick they teach in car dealers sales courses, it’s called “throwing a lowball”, in this tactic a customer is offered a very good price on a car,
Perhaps as much as $500 below competitors prices. The good deal, however, is not genuine, its only purpose is to cause a prospect to decide to buy at this dealership and not from the other dealers. Once the decision is made a raft of purchase forms are filled out, extensive financial terms are arranged. The dealer knows, customers develop a range of new reasons to support the choice they have now made.

Then something happens. All of a sudden an “error” in the calculations is discovered, It might be the salesman forgot to add in the cost of the air conditioner and if the customer insists on having it, then $500 must be added to the price…

The cover up operation is played sophistically, some times they let the bank handling the financing find the “mistake”, other times the boss is not approving the deal because “we’d be losing money”. They make it look as if it’s not that big mistake as it’s a relatively small percentage of the price of the car and as they stress out it only brings it to be equal to competitors.

The impressive thing about the lowball tactic is its ability to make a person feel pleased with a poor choice. If anyone tries to change the originally-quoted terms or talk you into buying a different vehicle, just say “no” and go somewhere else.

If you are interested to learn about many others car dealers scams and how to avoid them go to: http://www.carbuyingtips.com/scams.htm

Until all the papers have been signed there are still ways in which a shrewd dealer may add to his profit by talking you into extras you don’t want and probably don’t need. These can include added and overpriced insurance, extended warranties, rust proofing (absolutely unnecessary), paint or fabric protection, anti-theft plans, and more. Smile and firmly turn them all down.

Finally, before you drive away, do a careful inspection of the car, looking for scratches or dents; anything that mars the perfect finish. If you’re not happy, get a written agreement (known as a Due Bill). It means you have the right to later return the vehicle in order that flaws can be corrected.

Buying a Used Car

The question I would like to bring up here is whether it’s wise to buy a used car or to make an additional effort and buy a new car.

If you look at it purely from an economical stand point then it’s quiet obvious that due to the fact that you miss out on the heaviest depreciation hit the average car absorbs in the first two and three years it’s wise to buy a used car. A car of two or even three years on the road is basically a new car and in some cases didn’t even finished the manufacturers original bumper to bumper warranty. (Not included labor

On the average you might save on a used car anywhere between

$3,000 to $8,000. In case you know how to do it via a car dealer that will buy the car for you at a car
auction limited to car dealers only (for a couple of hundreds of Dollars commission(you might even get a real bargain.
See: http://www.carbuyingtips.com/auto-auctions.htm

Another good reason to buy a used car is the fact you can put your hands on a bigger or better or in other words more car for the same budget as the new smaller car would have cost you.

More and more manufacturers offer “certified pre-owned” programs. Cars sold as certified pre-owned (CPO) bridge the gap between new and used. They are subject to a rigorous inspection and repair process, and usually are covered by a warranty from the manufacturer. CPO cars will usually cost a bit more, but the added warranty and peace of mind makes them a good value.

If you want to get extended warranty look at:
http://www.carbuyingtips.com/warranty.htm

Where do you get the market value of the cars, that’s pretty easy, all you have to do is follow this link: Blue Book – Used Car Values at: http://www.cars.com/go/index.jsp

When purchasing a used car you should protect yourself from buying a flood damaged vehicle by doing a little research and by having the vehicle thoroughly checked by a mechanic. Rain, thunderstorms, swelling rivers and seasonal hurricanes hitting the coastlines all contribute to flooding disasters that can mean serious water damage to vehicles in those areas.

Water damage from 1999′s Hurricane Floyd ruined approximately 75,000 vehicles and more than half of those ended up back on the road. Tropical Storm Allison damaged another 95,000 in 2001 and Hurricane Ivan left more than 100,000 vehicles water-logged. The numbers for Hurricane Katrina are expected to skyrocket above half-a-million and safety experts warn that many of these flood damaged vehicles also will be dried out and offered for sale. Hurricanes and tropical storms, however, are only part of the problem.

Flooding can occur throughout the year and in any part of the country; however, auto industry analysts caution consumers that the risk of buying a flood damaged car is not limited to these areas. Flood damaged cars are often repaired cosmetically, and moved to adjacent states or even across the country where they are sold to unsuspecting consumers. These floodwaters can cause damage to vehicle computer and electrical systems, as well as potentially causing anti-lock braking and airbag systems to malfunction
.
World Trade Center Damaged Cars, thousands of cars were damaged in New York City on 9/11/2001. It’s a prime example of disasters having long term effects other than the initial death and destruction. These cars will no doubt be salvaged, rebuilt, sold at car auctions and have their titles rebuilt, most likely out of state.

An important help is the nationwide history data base of the cars in terms of damages, salvaged, lemon, flooded, fraud, accidents, rental etc’ you can look it up at:

In addition it’s recommended you have a mechanic check it out – A certified, trusted mechanic will test the electrical and safety systems, two of the major components that water can affect. They can also look for signs of water damage that may not be visible to the untrained eye.

Car Donation

It is estimated that every year, more than a million Americans donated their cars. Why do they donate their car? Well, few reasons: A. The proceeds go to charity organizations and it provides for the donor a good feeling of contributing to society. B. its tax deductible (Less than it used to). C. The car is being towed or driven away by the company who arranged the deal.

Unfortunately, whether through ignorance, confusion or greed, a substantial percentage of car donors have been deducting the full “suggested retail price” – what a dealer would get for reselling your trade-in instead of the fair market value. That’s far more than the IRS had intended, costing the government millions in lost tax revenue.

The charities weren’t making much, either. Most of the donated cars were sold by the charities for a pittance at auction, and middlemen who administered the programs on behalf of the charities took a large percentage of those meager profits.

So IRS changed the rule last year. From now on, if your car is valued more than $500, the deduction is limited to the charity’s actual selling price. The donor must attach a statement of sale to the tax return in order to receive the deduction. (The charity is obligated to provide the statement within 30 days.) You are not entitled to know the deduction amount before donating your car. Although the IRS has closed the loophole in the law, there is still a way to deduct full market value of your vehicle: If the charity uses the car itself to further its specific purpose.

You’re in the market to buy an ATV (all-terrain vehicle) and you’re not sure where to find a cheap ATV bargain, or even what it will look like when you find it. You’re not alone, in fact over the past two years as editor of ATVStyle.com I’ve received countless emails, forum messages and PMs from people asking me if an ATV they are interested in is a good bargain.

Step #1 – Be patient, the ONLY way to recognize a cheap price or great bargain on a used ATV is to take the time required to get a good understanding of the current market value for the particular ATV you’re interested in. Different ATV brands sell at different prices from model to model and year to year.

Step #2 – Know which ATV you want to buy. Its much easier to find a bargain on an ATV when you’re actively monitoring just one or two particular models, if you don’t choose the type of ATV you’re going to buy in advance, the ATV will choose you. Narrow down your search, be specific.

Step #3 – Join an ATV forum and ask for member feedback, in fact join several and don’t be afraid to speak your mind and voice your concerns. If other members have owned a particular ATV model and know that it has specific traits you need to be aware of they’ll let you know, the seller won’t.

Step #4 – Take notes. Watch places that sell ATVs regularly and take note of the prices being reached, the real prices, not the asking prices. eBay Motors is a great help with this, you can sort auctions by ending soonest and filter your search to your specific model, do this for a week and watch the final prices closely. Write them down, the longer you watch the more accurate your expected price range will become.

Step #5 – Ask for what you want. Sites like Craigslist and employee bulletin boards allow you to post free messages saying that you’re looking to buy a specific item. State the type of ATV you’re looking for as well as the price you’re willing to pay and its possible that someone contacts you with an ATV that wasn’t for sale otherwise.

Step #6 – Compare, compare, compare. BEFORE you spend your money is the time to compare ATV features, pros and cons. Spend a little more time in your favorite ATV forums just reading what others think of the ATV you’re interested in. A good tip here is to avoid forums dedicated to just one brand because you will only read biased reviews. ATV Forums dedicated to one brand only are better known as clubs, you want reviews, not a club.

Step #7 – Negotiate. No price is set in stone, In general I recommend knocking off 25% as your opening offer and expect the owner to not like your offer. He/she will likely begin telling you it’s worth more than that, it’s not your job to agree with the owner, it’s your job to convince the owner you may walk away unless the price is lowered. A good method of lowering the price is by pointing out the flaws, even a perfect ATV has flaws, even if it’s in mint condition you can seem saddened that it’s the wrong color or has the wrong tires which will make you spend more money etc. Focus on the negative, let the owner focus on the positive and hold your ground.

Step #8 – Bring a friend when inspecting the ATV, two sets of eyes trying to find flaws is better that one. Two voices keeping the owner thinking is better than one. Two personalities for the owner to try and get a read on is better than one. Just make sure the friend doesn’t wreck the sale by being too enthusiastic or worse, having him agree with the owner and not you. Don’t let the friend join the seller’s side because if that happens you need to run away quickly or your money will get left behind.

Step #9 – If the deal is not an in-person transaction, and being paid cash in full, consider using an escrow company like escrow.com. When a middle man handles the financial part of the bargain BOTH parties are protected to a greater degree. Escrow companies also help you make every step clear, you’ll know what to expect next. When you use escrow you can also have an ATV inspected and the funds will be released only after the ATV passes inspection by a qualified mechanic. The seller is protected because the funds won’t be returned to you either unless the seller confirms the ATV has been returned.

Step #10 – This final tip is one that I’ve seen being used more often and so i’ll mention it as well but I personally feel it’s a shady tactic, legal, but not my cup of tea. Have a friend make an appointment to see the ATV before you do. Let your friend get a read on the ATV owner, the ATV and perhaps see how rigid the owner is with price. Your friend can then report back to you before you inspect the ATV and you’ll be better prepared to close the deal by knowing more about the seller. If your friend offers a ridiculous price, 50% off for example, the owner would likely turn it down and the friend can then ask “what’s your lowest price?”. You’ll then know to offer slightly less than the lowest price and hold your ground.

Buying an ATV is both fun and filled with risk. Make sure the seller has the paperwork and title and remember that there are three distinct events taking place. A money negotiation, a vehicle inspection and a battle of wits to get the other party to give you a better deal.

So, you want to sell your car? *** Maybe you are buying a new car.
*** Perhaps you are getting a company car.
*** Has your family outgrown your present car?

Whatever the reason for your wanting to sell your car, car sellers agree that selling a car can be a very stressful experience. The commonest concerns sellers have are:

“Will I get a good price for my car?”
(i.e. will a buyer haggle hard and pressurise me into letting the car go for a low price?)

and

“How long will it take to find a buyer for my car?”
(i.e. if I hold out for the price I want, will I be left without a buyer?)

The traditional option is to take out an advert in the weekly Autotrader magazine. For about £35, you get a 2-week advert which allows you to include one small photo of your car, and about 200 characters of free text.

If you submit your advert before the Monday deadline, it will appear in that week’s edition which comes out either on Thursday or Friday morning. There are a number of regional editions, and you can choose which regional edition you want your advert to appear in.

Problems with advertising in Autotrader

Advertising in the print media sounds like a reasonable idea until you experience first-hand the crippling limitations of this proposition. Remember, the concept of advertising cars in print media has been around since the 1970′s, and is certainly showing it’s age:

Because you get only a limited number of words, you have to cram as much information about your car into the smallest number of words.
*** This has given rise to a whole specialist lingo, with terms like “r/c/l” (remote central locking) coming into existence for no reason other than to save space in an Autotrader advert!

You get only one photo, so you have to try to convey an impression about your car in one image.

*** Imagine you were going to buy something worth thousands of pounds – would you be impressed and satisfied with just one photo?

Because you know that your advert will run for only 2 weeks, you may be indirectly pressurised into accepting a lower price for your car than what you expected.

*** Suppose someone turns up to see your car on the last day of the 2 week period and offers you £500 less than your asking price… would you accept it for a quick sell or would you hold out for the price you think your car deserves, and be prepared to re-advertise for another 2 weeks?

Faced with the uncertainties and stress of traditional print-based car advertising, car sellers in the USA, UK and Europe have been turning to the Internet to find a more relaxed and productive way of selling their cars.

Top 7 reasons to advertise your car online

Advertising your car on the Internet has some unique advantages compared with traditional print advertising.

Our customers have consistently identified the following 7 features of online advertising which they say have made the difference between getting the price they want for their cars, and having to compromise for a lower price:

It is usually significantly cheaper to advertise your car on a website.
*** Disk space and bandwidth are cheaper than paper, ink and magazine distribution, and tremendous savings are made by not having to print and distribute a magazine. These savings can be passed on directly to the seller.

*** Car adverts at UKAutoSearch.com are FREE until sold, compared to the £35+ cost of a 2-week Autotrader advert.

*** UKAutoSearch.com is entirely supported by corporate advertising, and does not charge sellers for the service.

Online adverts can include a lot more information about your car than adverts in magazines.
*** Car adverts at UKAutoSearch.com can have 10,000 characters (2000 words) of free text description, compared to approximately 200 characters in an Autotrader advert.

Online sellers can include multiple photos of their cars.
*** Every FREE UKAutoSearch.com advert can have 10 photos of your car. For just £12.99, our sister site UKCarSeller.com allows 25 photos in each advert. Photos can be upto 1Mb in size.

Sellers can update / modify adverts at any time, even when the adverts are “live”.

Anyone in the world with an Internet connection can view your advert.
*** This means that people further afield who may still be interested in your car will be able to view its specifications online, without your having to spend more money on adverts in magazines serving neighbouring regions. The end result is that more buyers compete for your car.

*** Car adverts at UKAutoSearch.com are also advertised on Google and other search engines, increasing the number of people who can see your car online.

Your car advert will be online and active immediately – the turnaround time between submitting your advert and it being active is typically a lot shorter than in print media

Some websites such as UKAutoSearch.com and UKCarSeller.com will actively advertise your car until it is sold. So you do not have to accept the first offer you get.

So, your son’s been begging you to get him a Kid ATV and you have given him the green light – but did it occur to you that just buying the Kid ATV alone for him is not enough? Before your jaw dropped any lower, let me explain. When you buy a house, you need to buy the other stuffs like beds, sofas, dining table and many other accessories, in order to “complete” the home, right? Well, the same goes for buying your son his Kid ATV. Other than just the Kid ATV, you need to get him the ATV accessories that come along with it. There, you do get what I am trying to tell you now, don’t you?

There are a great variety of Kid ATV accessories that you will be able to find online or at the ATV shops – but I am sure if you have visited websites like http://www.jackel.com or http://www.kidatv.com to “survey” on the Kid ATV models that they have, you would also know that just like the various Kid ATVs that you see at these sites, there are many different types of ATV accessories available too. As many as the ATV accessories out there in the market, there are the basics of the ATV accessories that your son must have.

One of such is the helmet. It is the most important accessory that he must have if he’s going to be riding on his Kid ATV. If he happens to be in an ATV accident, the part of his body that really needs protection would be his head! There are many types of ATV helmets and the more protection the helmet provides, the better it is. Some helmets are made just to protect the head while others are made to protect the head and the face of the rider as well. I personally feel that the latter is better because it prevents the rider from being poked in the eye and scratched by branches while he or she is riding.

Goggles will protect the eyes of the ATV rider and is also another important accessory for your son’s ATV riding trips. Not only does it protect his eyes from any sort of eye injury but is also important because the rider will not have his vision blocked by mud or other types of debris while he is riding. Jerseys and pants are also part of the accessories for ATV riders because they do provide a little more protection compared to normal clothes and are more comfortable to be worn for ATV riding. Besides, your son will probably prefer the jerseys and pants that are meant for ATV riding because it will make him look like a “real” ATV rider.

Should your son also have plans to have night time riding excursions with his friends, you may want to consider getting him a headlight kit for his Kid ATV, that allows the rider to see at night. Surely you don’t want your son to be riding in the night without some sort of lights to direct his paths, would you? I believe that it is better to invest a little more on headlights for his Kid ATV than to receive news of him crashing into a tree or another rider while he’s riding on his Kid ATV in the night.

Of course, there are many more kid ATV accessories out there that is available, but it does not mean that you have to buy ALL of them. It really depends on how much your son is “into” ATV riding. There is no need for you to go out and grab all the ATV accessories that you see in the shops – just get what is really necessary for him first and then gradually add on when the need arises.

Japan has been a rich source of used cars for many years and each day thousands of people buy a used car direct from Japanese car auctions.

The benefits are many:

Good quality, reliable, economical and famous Japanese brands such as Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mitsubishi.

Low milage. Most cars come with less than 100,000 kilometers on the clock

Good condition. Regular servicing and repairs due to strict Japanese Government safety checks.

Many options. Many owners choose several options, so your car will come feature packed.

Cheap! Cars can start at auction for 1 yen, although you’ll probably pay a little more than that!

And more…

In this article I’ll cover the following points to help you understand the Japanese used car market and make a more informed choice about buying a car for export to your country.

Japanese used car dealers

The buying and importing process

Japanese used car dealers

The process of buying and importing a used car has become much easier with the advent of the internet. There are thousands of dealers throughout Japan and around the world who have websites offering cars they have in stock, or offering a custom car search service where they take your specifications and search the auctions until they find a car to match your exact needs.

There is a wide variety of export car dealers. Some dealers are huge organisations dealing with large volumes of cars while others are single entrepreneurs who run their own businesses. Of course the larger a company the bigger the overheads and so probably you’ll end up paying slightly more in dealer fees, but you get more security from dealing with an established business. The choice between price and reliability is yours.

The Japanese Government recognised JUMVEA (Japanese Used Motor Vehicle Exporters Assosciation) maintains a member list of companies which “was created to address this problem [of poor quality cars and dealers], being composed of used car exporters of excellent credentials and high credibility” JUMVEA website.

Their aim is to give membership to those companies which show their reliability and service over time, so if you are particularly worried about trust then look for a company with this accreditation. You can check the list of members on the JUMVEA website, and accredited members will proudly display their membership on their website.

However not many companies have JUMVEA membership so before buying from a non member do the following checks:

See if the exporters bank details are listed on the website

Call the company at least once to ask about any questions you may have. Bona fide companies will have no problems with talking to you over the phone, although be patient with their English abilty!

Ask for testimonials

Check the quality of response to your enquiries. If the dealer is obscuring or dodging an issue then move on

In general use your common sense and if something is suspicious or dosent feel right then don’t proceed and find another dealer.

The buying and importing process

Check your country’s law

Before importing check your country’s rules for importing used cars to make sure you are allowed to import the car you want. Most countries have liberal laws and are mostly concerned with emissions and safety standards.

However these can add extra to the cost of importing so make sure you research the compatibility of the model you want with laws in your own country. If you choose a car which is way outside the limits then you could be spending a large amount to make it conform.

Check with the dealer and your local department of motor vehicles if in doubt. You don’t want to be left on the docks with a bill for several thousand to make the car conform before you can take it home!

Sending the request

If the dealer has a stock of cars you can request on shown on their website in which case you will know the price and details of the car.

However if you are looking for something specific then you will have to send the dealer an email describing what you want. Most dealers have some sort of request form on their website.

Confirmation

If you are buying from stock then you will usually get a faster confirmation of purchase. If you request something else then the dealer will have to search for what you requested at an auction and send you details of prices and specifications. It is then up to you to confirm or ask for a different model etc.

Payment

Once you have decided on a car and price you will be required to pay for it. Methods and amounts vary by dealer.

Some dealers require you pay 100% upfront with by bank transfer (or telegraphic transfer T.T.) before the car is bought at auction or readied for shipping. Others require a less amount as a deposit and then a balance on completion of purchase at auction or when the car is ready for shipping.

You may feel nervous sending money to a foreign country and unknown company so you should be sure of the dealers trustworthiness before you enter into a contract or send any money. You can do this by checking to see if the dealer displays a company registration number and address on their website, then ask the Japanese embassy in your country for confirmation – although this may take a long time and cost you extra.

You can also check the bank account. Japanese banking laws are strict when it comes to monetary movements and bank accounts. All registered businesses are required to have their accounts under exactly the same name that they registered their company.

If you are buying a used car online from Japan and the name on the bank account is different from the name of the trading company, or if its an individual, then you should investigate more.

Delivery

Delivery times will vary according to distance and number of ships to your country. Here is a rough guideline.

Russia and Hong Kong: three days

New Zealand and Australia: three weeks

Rest of world: between four to six weeks

There may be other times to include in the delivery period such as a deregisteration certificate for the Japanese owner which shows the car has been sold by him, and finding a space on a boat to your port. These extra processes can take up another four to six weeks.

Arrival

Your car has arrived at your port and now you have to pick it up. Take the documentation which the dealer sent you to a shipping agent who will arrange the offloading of the car from the ship.

Depending on your country’s laws you may have to pay import tax, licence the car, get car safety tests done, and insure the car.

Now your car is legally imported and in your hands. Drive home carefully!

Summary
In conclusion buying and exporting a used Japanese car is fairly straightforward, and can save you a fair bit of money compared to buying a car in your own country. Choosing a reputable firm is probably the biggest priority to ensure a smooth transaction, and you should be aware of any extra costs your government may impose to make the car conform to safety and emission standards.

Exotic sports cars are the stuff of dreams. Many of us would love to have one, but most of us couldn't afford it. But what if you could? What if money was no object? Would you still go out and buy one? Perhaps you should read this article before you answer that question...
Super Exotic Sports Cars – What You Should Know, Before Spending Any Money! is a post from: MotorCrazed - Resources for all things on wheels.

Before we start, let’s define the term ‘super exotic sports cars’. Sports cars, by definition are borderline racing cars; boasting powerful performance and sleek looks. Their prestige makes them expensive, and thus the domain of a select few. With reference to sports cars, the term “exotic” refers to vehicles produced in very limited numbers. This of course increases their exclusivity and by virtue of this, their value. Exotic sports cars will, in all likelihood, be built by smaller manufacturers or perhaps the super high-end vehicles will be created by some of the better-known car companies outside of the United States, as exclusive models.

Many exotic sports cars are the stuff of legend. The world’s fastest car, the McLaren F1, for instance is a well-known exotic. Although only around one hundred F1s were produced and the manufacturer is not a household name (outside of the Grand Prix circuits of course), the McLarens are coveted sports cars. All exotic sports cars are highly sought after and, as status symbols, are second to none in the sports car world.

But, assuming that you can afford it, is an exotic sports car for you?

It is easy to be seduced by the allure of owning an exotic sports car. Owning one can be very tempting. Amongst the purists, the cars themselves are often considered the pinnacle of design. Any enthusiast who has the means will tell you that when an opportunity to invest in an exotic sports car presents itself, resistance can be very difficult.

One should try and be objective about the proposition though.

Before making such a major commitment, there are three factors you should consider.

Exotic Sports Cars Are Very Expense

The cost of owning such a prestigious car, does not end when you part with the initial payment. Even if one can afford the initial asking price of an exotic (and not many can), one needs to be aware of the likely ongoing running expenses , which can be significant. The maintenance and repair of an exotic car is certain to be expensive compared to non-exotic vehicles and a buyer should attempt to discover what kind of costs he or she is likely to experience in order to keep the car in running order. There can be no cost cutting on parts for these high end vehicles.

Parts for prestige cars are likely to be in short supply, if they are available at all. The likelihood that the owners of exotic sports cars will need to have some parts custom made during their ownership of the vehicle is quite high. And the cost will be significant. This is especially true of older exotics, many of which will have been orphaned when their original manufacturer stopped making cars. Not only will this prove extremely expensive, one can also expect it to be time consuming as well. And, as time passes, the necessary investment will only become greater.

Your usual mechanic cannot be expected to be able to repair exotic sports cars. You will need specialised mechanics with specialised tools to be able to ensure that appropriate and professional repairs are carried out. Not only will such individuals be, in all probability much more expensive than your usual mechanics, you would be very fortunate if you found one in your town. You should expect to have to do a lot of traveling in order to find suitable mechanical help.

All too often a sports car buff will purchase an exotic, without though to the ongoing costs, and, as a consequence be completely unprepared to handle additional future expenses. A thorough planning of expected costs and the means to meet those costs would certainly be in order.

Reliability Of High End Vehicles

Even though an exotic sports car may represent the ultimate in performance, One cannot assume that it will also be reliable. This will hold particularly true for the older ‘classic’ exotic cars. As with any high performance machine, exotic sports cars can be quite delicate (temperamental) which will, in all probability, require that you, or someone close to you be regularly on hand to make the adjustments to ensure that the vehicle stays in operating order. Exotic sports cars are well known for the spectacular side of their performance when they running well. However, the other side of the coin is that they are notorious for being among the most temperamental of vehicles that one may encounter.

If you plan to run an exotic sports car on a regular basis, you should be prepared for the highs and los of motoring. The sublime feeling of driving a top car with top performance can often be forgotten if the same car stops and refuses to start many miles from any assistance.

The Drivability of Exotic Cars

Most owners of high performance cars will tell you that such vehicles take ‘some getting used too’. Optimum performance comes at a price, and will depend very largely on the skill of the driver. So, if you are relatively inexperienced, then please do not expect to get the best out of your car straight away. This in itself could prove too frustrating for many potentials owners. One should also take into account the relative risk of driving a high performance cars whilst still inexperienced.

For those to whom the additional cost of time in learning to drive a prestige car optimally and safely is not an issue, an additional, problem arises in the adjustment of seats and pedals for example. Small things that are irrelevant in normal cars take on much greater significance when applied to exotic sports cars.

When considering the purchase of an exotic sports car, one must look past the romance and excitement of owning a legendary vehicle. There are real concerns and obstacles to be overcome before the full enjoyment and benefit of owning such a car can be achieved.

Every motorist needs to know how to legally beat your speeding ticket today. Or avoid the problem altogether with the best radar detectors around.

ATV racing is a common event these days, and it is no surprise at all that those who are involved in ATV racing are always looking for ATV parts to modify their ATVs or to improve the performance of their ATVs, or at times, to replace the parts that have worn out due to frequent racing activities. And there are many different places that you can get these ATV parts – especially from the internet.

There are lots of great websites on the internet that you provide aftermarket ATV parts that you can use to enhance the performance of your ATV such as parts like side bar protectors to graphic kits – they are all found with just a click on the mouse from the internet. With such parts, you can be sure that you are able to work on your ATV and upgrade it to what you would consider it as being suitable for your ATV racing needs.

A word of caution though, it may seem fun trying to get all those parts to enhance the performance of your ATV, but I personally feel that while you are out looking for those parts, you must also remember to get good quality parts for your ATV. There is no point buying inferior quality parts for your ATV because not only will you cause unnecessary damage to your ATV, you will also be contributing towards the unfavorable “image” that ATVs seem to be getting all the time.

If you are unsure where to go looking for the parts for your ATV, whether to enhance it or to replace the parts that you’d need for your ATV, try posting your questions at the forums of websites such as http://www.jackel.com or http://www.atvoutdoors.net.

When you do find a website that sells the ATV parts that you need, be sure to check with them if they have a return policy – just in case the part turns out to be unsuitable for your machine or if it is defective upon receiving it. However, it is always wise to tell the ATV parts dealer your intention of getting that particular part so that they will know if it is what you really need for your ATV. A knowledgeable ATV parts dealer such as http://www.kazumaatvparts.com will be able to tell you on the spot if what you want is what you need to get for your ATV.

There’s another point that you should always remember and that is, whenever you are dealing with an ATV parts supplier, always ensure that you are able to speak to them personally on the phone and not just through emails. It is quite a risk not to be able to talk to them personally as they may turn out to be one of those ‘fly by night’ suppliers where you have made payment for the so called ATV parts, only to find defective parts arriving at your doorstep and the supplier is nowhere to be found after that! On top of that, when you are able to have a telephone conversation with the supplier, you would be able to tell if they are genuine ones or not by the knowledge of the parts that they are selling. A supplier that does not have time to explain and listen to what their customers have to ask or say is definitely one that you should not be dealing with. If you happen to meet one who refuses to talk to you on the phone or who insists on dealing with you via email, my suggestion would be to just move on and find another ATV parts dealer that would be more than willing to deal with you over the telephone.

Temptation is great when it comes to modifying your ATV, but you don’t have to get all the stuffs that you read about or have heard of. It’s best to start little by little – this way you get to save some more money for your next purchase and you will also not end up buying parts that you do not need and regret it later.
