we just changed the alternator in our car but yesterday, after running really good, the car didnt start. My husband got a jump but on his way to the auto part shop, the car stalled when we took his foot off the gas. We took the battery to get tested and they said its bad. Would a bad battery cause the car to stall when driving?
Answer:
Yes it will the plates go bad in batteries and this is why they will not hold a charge i have also seen bad alternators ruin a battery. You do not have to install the factory battery you can get a universal for a lot cheaper just make sure you get the same cold cranking amps as the battery that came with the car it is stamped on the battery CCA this is what you will see followed by a 3 digit number. Yes a car will stall at idle speeds if you are not producing enough amps cars today use a lot more than they use to.
