97 Ford F-150 will not move?
I have a 97 Ford F-150 Manual transmission and it will not move backwards or forward. I was driving it the day before and everything was fine, but I got into it to go to work yesterday and it will not move. The engine starts up fine, but when I put it in gear either 1st or reverse it will not move as if the brakes were locked and not allowing it to advance. It will try to move, but it only rocks back to it original position. The emergency brake is off. Can anyone help?!?!?!
Answer:
If the truck rocks when you put it in gear it’s neither your tranny nor rear end. It is your back brakes locking. Maybe your ABS system is malfunctioning. Disconnect the wire on your rear end and see if that makes any difference. If it does, it’s your ABS. If not, then it’s your back brakes.
